Does anyone know what to do when the solder runs to the end of a pipe and clumps on the inside? How do we get rid of the cling-on?
Two bad mistakes.

Thank you for that. The clumps are on the union seal (tread end) also. I unfortunately I placed the connection verticle on a block of wood and the solder ran down and pooled inside the end. When I picked it up there were two clumps attached to the inside edge on one and the other was on the seal edge. Can I reheat to melt the clumps and wipe off? Just don't know how to fix this.

It's gonna be tough, you'd be better off getting a new union and restarting. Try putting some PTFE tape (teflon tape) on the parts you don't want the solder to go on, works for me.
